Information We Collect
GameSwipe collects the information needed to create and run your account, including your username, email address, password credentials, guest account identifier, account security settings, and two-factor authentication status.
When you use the app, we store gameplay-discovery activity such as liked games, disliked games, skipped games, favorite games, selected genres, genre preference scores, recommendation history signals, and related game metadata used to show your lists and improve recommendations.
If you use community features, we collect the discussion threads, replies, timestamps, and account information needed to display those posts. If you enable notifications, we store device notification tokens and notification preferences so we can deliver app messages.
Payments And Supporter Features
If you become a supporter through the website, payment checkout and billing management are handled by Stripe. GameSwipe stores supporter status, customer identifiers, subscription identifiers, and related status dates so your supporter badge and account benefits work. We do not store full card numbers.
How We Use Information
We use collected information to:
- create, authenticate, secure, and manage accounts;
- provide swipe-based game discovery, lists, favorites, and recommendations;
- show community discussions and supporter badges;
- send account, announcement, and app notifications when enabled;
- operate payments, support, abuse prevention, debugging, and service reliability;
- understand aggregate app behavior and improve GameSwipe.
Third-Party Services
GameSwipe uses third-party services to provide parts of the product. Game data may come from RAWG, trailer or video data may come from Steam or YouTube, push notifications may use Firebase Cloud Messaging, and supporter payments may use Stripe. These services may process information under their own policies when you interact with features that depend on them.
Cookies And Local Storage
The website uses cookies for login sessions, security, and guest account continuity. The Android app may store authentication tokens, guest keys, settings, and local app preferences on your device so the app can keep you signed in and remember your choices.
Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We share information only as needed to run GameSwipe, process payments, deliver notifications, comply with legal obligations, prevent abuse, or protect the service and its users. Community posts and related profile signals, such as username and supporter badge status, may be visible to other users.
Data Retention
We keep account and app activity information for as long as needed to provide GameSwipe, maintain security, comply with obligations, resolve disputes, and improve the service. Some skipped game entries may expire automatically. Cached game or trailer data may remain even when it is no longer tied to a specific user account.
Your Choices
You can choose not to provide optional information, disable notifications in the app or device settings, log out, or stop using guest mode. If you want help with account data, access, or corrections, contact GameSwipe support using the contact information on this site or from the account email connected to your GameSwipe account.
To request account and data deletion, visit the GameSwipe account deletion page.
Security
GameSwipe uses authentication, token controls, password hashing, and optional two-factor authentication to help protect accounts. No system is perfectly secure, so keep your password private and enable two-factor authentication when available.
Children
GameSwipe is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.
Changes To This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as GameSwipe changes. When changes are made, the effective date above will be updated. Continued use of GameSwipe after changes means the updated policy applies.
